Mandee Miller, Fitness Trainer

 

 

Mandee found her passion for movement and performance at a young age through both musical theatre and organized sports. Her drive to learn about and share her knowledge of health and wellness was further fueled by her grandmother’s untimely passing from pulmonary complications and morbid obesity. She began her fitness career in Los Angeles right out of college and found yoga and Pilates soon after as a vehicle for self-compassion, body awareness, strong form, alignment, breathing, and flexibility.

In 2009, Mandee became a lifetime certified personal trainer through NPTI Chicago. She holds current ACE and AFAA certifications for primary group fitness exercise as well as a Pilates mat exercise certification through both Equinox and AFAA. Additionally, she completed her 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training through Yogaview Chicago, and has taught group, corporate, and private yoga classes since 2014.

Today Mandee is a well-versed fitness professional who owns her own personal training business; coaching in-home and virtual private clients from LA to all over the US and UK. She leads weekly public group fitness and mind/body classes for local gym locations and has developed her own signature format for a local and woman-owned yoga studio. FIT: a high intensity interval class using hand weights, blocks and bands, and BUTT: a glute-centric HIIT and barre-inspired yoga class using equipment and wall space. Mandee has also lead a local and woman-owned cycling studio in workshops on how to teach to the beat while also using metrics on the bike to track client progress along the way. Lastly, Mandee is passionate about mentoring new group fitness instructors as they begin navigating the fitness world and providing easy practices in how to conduct business in our ever-evolving market.

Her competence and proficiency across so many fitness modalities, from resistance training to asana to Pilates, affords Mandee a tremendous flexibility in meeting the needs of all body types, ages, and fitness levels. She focuses on thoughtful cueing for alignment and aims to educate the participant in the “how” and “why” of moving intentionally and integrally.
